57th Ave & Cambie Development - Includes A New Canada Line Station

Overview

Details of this project are limited; no developer marketing materials have been published. The Cambie Gardens development is by Onni, one of the largest and most reputable developers in Vancouver. There will be roughly 21 buildings (depending on how you count) on this site with varying heights. The development will be between Heather to Cambie spanning 57th Ave to 59th Ave.

There are likely to be 10 residential buildings (between 16 to 28-storeys), some of these buildings will be condos, and some will be for rentals. Expect at least three condo buildings including the 28-storey building.

There is quite likely to be a new Canada Line station at 57th Ave & Cambie St. as well.

Developer - Onni

Other Onni developments around Vancouver include 1335 Howe St., The Charleson, Gilmore Place, Nature’s Walk, Suter Brook Village, Tsawwassen Landing, and many other already completed projects.

Other Companies involved:

Vancouver Coastal Health - consultant, YMCA - consultant, IBI Group Architects, DIALOG, Endell Elliot Associates, Enns Gauthier – Landscape Architect, Bunt & Associates – Transportation, Arbortech Consulting Ltd. – Arborist, Aplin & Martin Consultants Ltd. – Civil, Recollective – Sustainability

Completion date

Completion dates are unknown at this current time. Some estimates were initially planning on 2018, but this is entirely unrealistic at present. My estimate based on other developments is early 2020 for the first phase of buildings, with other buildings built in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Pricing

Unknown at this current time. My estimate is floorplans starting around $1100/Sq.Ft.

Canada Line Skytrain Station!

One of the craziest parts of this new development is that there will likely be a new Canada Line Station at 57th Avenue & Cambie Street! Onni is funding this - as the increase in property values to the area, more than outweigh the cost of the new station.
